Eddie Spaghetti Product Used : Tomato Basil Sauce

Bologna, in the Emilia-Romanga region of Italy is said to have the most lavishly rich food in all of Italy. The sauce which bares its name sake is the epitome of that. This combination of pork and veal add great depth to give this sauce a very rich meaty flavor. Eddie recommends serving over a thick pasta such as Rigatoni, Pappardelle or Bucatini.


½ pound ground veal (can substitute ground beef)
½ pound ground pork
¼ quarter of an onion, finely chopped   
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
3 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped or 1 tablespoon dried basil
2 whole bay leaves
¼ bunch parsley, finely chopped or 2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
3 tablespoons olive oil

½ cup of dry red wine
24 ounces Eddie Spaghetti Tomato Basil Sauce


Step 1 – In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over a medium high heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, carrots and celery. Cook until onions are transparent, approximately 3-5 minutes.  
Step 2 – Add red wine and for 2 minutes so that the alcohol burns off, while the flavor remains.

Step 3 – Add meat, cook until meat is browned, approximately 10 minutes. Then drain fat from meat.
Step 4 – Add herbs and spices, combine with meat. Cook for 2 minutes.
Step 5 – Add Eddie Spaghetti Tomato Basil Sauce, turn heat down to medium low. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
